Class research task

Emma Barnett: female journalists targeted
1) Summarise this example for the rest of the class in one paragraph
In the Huffington post it is discussed upon twitter trolls and how they would say to journalists abusive things online but would say it in real life. In this case three journalists all got the same tweet that they were going to get bombed this would leave Emma one of the journalists going to the Pub and  Hadley Freeman leaving her house and letting the police look around for any sign of bombs. The view on this would be its just 'Banter' but this could be a real problem at the time and it would mean that there is danger. This article is explaining the threats these women journalists get and how they have to ignore it and get on with life.2) What was the initial incident or situation that sparked this example?
It was the tweet being send to all three journalists at the same time making it a big issue. the spark which made this would mean that they all have a accurate time as to 10:47 being the time. it was also a bad incident as to being an act of feminism for what they do and work on.
3) In your opinion, is this an example of a valid campaign or something of a witchhunt against people who are not doing any serious harm?
This is an example that with the trolls aiming at all of these three female journalists this could off led them to be harmed as to thinking there was a bomb in their house and it would mean that someone is targeting them. this in my opinion is a witchhunt against these journalists and what they stand. I believe that it was a dangerous tweet to do even if it was a troll should'nt be aiming this to people you dont know and especially with bomb threats.

Ched Evans: petition to prevent convicted rapist playing
1) Summarise this example for the rest of the class in one paragraph
Ched Evans got petitioned to not play football again in any other team this would be because of the conviction of rape that he did. From my own knowledge i know that Jessica Ennis didnt want him to go to his new club having over 100,000 signatures leading to big problem for the footballer. This was to believe that the petition states he should not play for the act of being convicted for rape and should not be a idol,

2) What was the initial incident or situation that sparked this example?
Being convicted for rape and also for celebrities and other athletes pushing this like Jessica Ennis

3) In your opinion, is this an example of a valid campaign or something of a witchhunt against people who are not doing any serious harm?
In my opinion i believe that this is a valid campaign as for a family parents would not want children to idolize a man who has raped someone and still plays football. it is to show the punishment of what happens after. This in my opinion i  believe is good as to the reason of people having a voice of the team they support. From another view i know its his career but for the actions he had done it would mean that people can still judge and give petition because of the girl who life has changed.

Caroline Criado-Perez: female presence on banknotes
1) Summarise this example for the rest of the class in one paragraph
Caroline Criado-Perez: 'Twitter has enabled people to behave in a way they wouldn't face to face' This would be because she petitioned for the bank notes to have a woman on there and it led to alot of threat online making it worse as to making her making a big article on how men treat women. She is determined to defeat the trolls and this main article ended up  being a campaign as she wanted fight against the men who are not feminist.

2) What was the initial incident or situation that sparked this example?
When the petition was made to change the bank notes and threats started.

3) In your opinion, is this an example of a valid campaign or something of a witchhunt against people who are not doing any serious harm?
In my opinion i believe it is a fair campaign because it is wrong to threaten someone who just wanted equality. The problem was that if there was no threats and just normal then it would of been a fine situation but because there was many sexist comment it led to the situation to get larger and i believe that this deserves to be fair campaign as to people giving threats to a woman who just wanted more equality on a bank note.
