Why Twitter would be right to expand to 10,000 characters – in 10,000 characters
http://www.theguardian.com/technology/2016/jan/05/why-twitter-is-right-to-expand-to-10000-characters
The article is about expanding the twitter characters to at least 10,000 characters meaning it would be longer than a page. This is change would be massive as to the favourite icon changing to the heart it is a change that no one would really know how to react. This article would be explaining about the reaction and how long twitter would be changed as to people have no limits as they could write how ever long they wanted. They use examples of arguments and debates and that it could include how it would help. The article questions if 10,000 characters are too much to be used. The article overall is about the advantages and disadvantages of this idea.
1. Veteran commentator Jeff Jarvis is less keen on Twitter busting out of 140 characters. And here’s why – in 140 characters: Articles (with ads) embedded in tweets a click & an instant away? Good. Tweets as endless essay? Bad, very bad. Very, very, very, very bad!!
2. The Guardian has asked me to fill 10,000 characters here, and I am only about halfway there at this point. No one on Twitter is really going to use all 10,000, are they? The average user might only maybe want to add a couple extra lines, or a couple extra paragraphs, right? After all, Twitter can give us all the space in the world, but I’m guessing there will still be a fundamental resistance to change when it comes to user behaviour.
In my opinion i think they need to expand the characters is a good idea for twitter but it would be too much if it was 10,000 because it would be essay's on a social networking site. This would be long to read and it would be very time consuming. This would be a good idea but they're has to be a shorter character limit so it would be atleast a paragraph nothing more than a page.
