WhatsApp blocked in Brazil for 48 hours by court

http://www.theguardian.com/technology/2015/dec/17/whatsapp-blocked-brazil-48-hours-facebook

This article explains Brazil has blocked Facebook’s WhatsApp messaging app, preventing users in the country from connecting to service or sending messages. This would be because whatsapp did not respond to the court which was happening and therefore there was no service for 48 hours. There is another article about the judge saying it was to unfair as to doing this to the people where the ban was gone.

1. The first criminal court of São Bernardo do Campo said in a statement: “WhatsApp did not respond to a court order, dated 23 July, 2015. On 7 August , 2015, the company was notified again of being subject to fixed penalty in case of non-compliance.”

2. WhatsApp has more than 900 million daily active users globally, of which 93 million live in Brazil.

3. 86% of Brazilians have used WhatsApp, while other research points to more than 90%, making it the most used app in the country above Facebook.

Whatsapp is a big messaging service that people rely on as its quick than normal texting and it has shown this. If Brazil really got rid of this there would be big problems as to quick messaging would not be quick and the problem is that if the whataspp did not respond to to the court order they would have to do something. How ever the method of banning it for 48 hours would be a big problem because people other lives have to message and have the right to that. One man shouldnt be the cause of blocking the messaging app.
