Has social media ruined the web?
http://www.theguardian.com/media/2015/dec/31/has-social-media-ruined-the-web
An Iranian blogger thinks the rise of social media is killing the potential of the web. Is he right? The article is explaining the internet and that has social media ruined the web as to what we communicate with. This Iranian blogger was in prison in 2008 and when he got out in 2014 it showed that technology had advanced over time. During his time in prison, the rise of smartphones and apps had changed the online world. Blogging and independent websites had been overtaken by social media networks, with the likes* of Facebook, Twitter and Instagram dominating the market.
In my opinion this article is short to give tips on but its the belief that social media is where we get our information and talk. This article see it as the opportunity to describe the social media world as like Walmart where we pick what we want. This is a discussion on where people believe if the internet is actually ruined or not and this article does favour that we have developed but also that we care more about celebrities where we used to use the internet just for information and statistics. But this can be argued as a point given it helps people day to day to communicate and have a blog.
