13C: January assessment learner response

Grade- D (22 marks)

1) Type up your feedback in full:
WWW: Clear positives here - you've clearly revised. The essay contains much of what you need some theories, examples and focus on case study.

EBI: Does not link to the question or debate, example would be Baudrillard: the perfect theory for this question but your point shows no relevance or understanding to the theory. you have good quotes but they seem be thrown randomly: you dont discuss or apply them. Need to focus on the question.

2) Read through the mark scheme. Out of the six different statements, write which you think is currently your strongest and which is weakest. Explain WHY and, for the weakest, what you are going to do to improve in that area.

Strongest: Adequate understanding of new and digital media.
Issues and theories and contexts used.

Weakness: A satifactory essay showing critical autonomy
Lack of focus in the question

3) Read through the exemplar A grade essay. What does this essay offer that yours does not? Identify THREE things you can take from this essay to improve your own responses in future.

1. Examples and linking them to the question. This would mean by the quotes and theory i give use examples in wider context.

2. Have statics on the decline of newspaper. This would be giving percentages and also the viewer-ship of newspapers.

3. Have everything link and have it focus on the question . I lacked in following the question and in the A grade essay it follows.

4) Write ONE new paragraph for your January assessment essay. Ideally, this should be a section you did not cover in your original essay. This paragraph needs to be comprehensive and meet the criteria for Level 4 of the mark scheme.

In an environment where audiences can consume information and use technology everywhere show it is can be trusted. For example we have User generated content which is shown from our own opinions. From this we have communicated globally without any barriers being held as for example the Eric Garner case came back because of the voice of people. This would also mean that in that case it got the people wanting to say that it was the police who was the blame of the death as Eric Garner didn't do anything. This show trust as it was a community of people doing this and it was growing. With new digital media we have been in an environment where we have user generated content which gives us more trusted information. However it could be argued as citizen journalism is made that i can be wrong and the environment we live in is not true as we thought. It can be still seen as "million monkeys typing nonsense" this would be a quote which links with marxist view that its all just written can we really trust where we get our information? The environment we live in now with new digital media is highly trusted as technology is the number one essential to people lives and they want to be updated and it is trust worthy as to news update on weather and incidents that happen as we can check on different sources.
