Audience

1) How has new and digital media changed the audience experience in your chosen industry?

There has been a big difference as for audience experience has been the same for 102 years old as the viewer going to the big screen and paying around £9 for a ticket. The difference now is that we access this on our digital devices like smartphones and tablets where we can watch at home or on the go.

2) Has new and digital media changed the way the audience consume your chosen product?

New and digital media has changed as to audience can pick whatever movie they would want on any device as to streaming and to ordering online. This would be sites like iTunes and Netflix where the audience would pay for one copy of the film or rent it like iTunes or do as monthly subscription like Netflix. However there is the illegal way of streaming for free where the studio gets no money.

3) Has the size of the audience changed as a result of new and digital media?

The size of audience has grown to a bigger size as to the movies that the Paramount pictures have invested in or produced with. This would be because of the access we have now as to tablets and phones as well and this would the money into the studio as to making the money back for the whole budget put into the film. This would be bringing audience to giving different types of genres and letting them accessed

.4) What are the positive changes new and digital media have brought to the audience of your case study? (E.g. greater choice, easier access etc.)

It gives an easier choice for the audience as to Netflix being £6 a month gives you all old movies or TV shows and it would give any type of audience what they want. This would be giving the audience a range and choose what they want on a Friday night.

5) What are the negative changes new and digital media have had on your chosen audience? (E.g. quality of product etc.)

Piracy  is the biggest negative impact to the digital media as to easily getting content which is free online and this would give no money to the studio.

Putlocker and apps such as movie box mean that not as many people will go to the cinema and pay for a film that they can get for free on their phone or computer. This would be the use of streaming and its affect on the industry.

2) In your opinion, has globalisation had a positive or negative impact on your chosen industry and case study? Why?

It has given the globalization a positive impact as to giving a range to different countries and allowing this content to be accessed. It is an negative as well meaning that piracy can happen easily as to getting a copy from a different country and being put online.

in a film culture built on the online experience of accessing films (and other media such as books, games, music etc.) is that sense of having exchanged a limited sense of ‘coming attractions’, as listed in the cinema foyer, for a much wider range of recommendations of similar kinds of films, possibly all related to our own preferences.

Uses and gratifications: This is relevant as audiences will go to see movies if they can see themselves in the movie in terms of personal identity. This gets audiences into theaters to view the films as to being surveillance getting the information and wanting more updates on it which makes them intrigued.

Two step-flow model: This is relevant as a lot of movies use opinion leaders such as their own actors to get audiences into the cinema to watch the film and this would be by the interviews as to what it means to them and what they want to represent altogether.

Enigma code- This would be using social media to give clips of a movie so they can intrigue the audience and also bring them to watch the movie.
